KNEE ON TRAC® DECOMPRESSION THERAPY

Knee decompression therapy uses our Knee on Trac® machine to separate the two main bones of the knee joint to reduce pain, increase function and promote tissue healing.

By gently separating the joint space between the thigh bone and the shin bone, we create a vacuum effect inside the joint, bringing nutrient-rich fluid to the area. This technique also helps to stretch the tendons, ligaments and other soft tissue around the joint.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What Can I Expect During a Treatment?

A normal session is typically 5-10 minutes depending on the patient's need. You will be seated on our Knee On Trac® machine with your leg extended, at a comfortable position.

A strap will go over your upper thigh and an inflatable cuff is used just below the knee to secure the leg. Our therapist will start the program on the Knee on Trac® machine with the appropriate settings based on your condition. You will feel a gentle separation of the knee joint throughout your treatment.

  • What Can I Expect After a Treatment?

Some patients may experience some mild soreness after the first couple of treatments depending on the level of knee degeneration and/or amount of scar tissue.

Most patients see positive results in the first few treatments. Your treatment plan can be combined with other therapies to produce the fastest and most complete recovery possible.

  • How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The total number of treatments recommended will depend on the severity of your condition and symptoms, along with your treatment goals.
